Compilation of proposals from RCA Annual Meeting
April 27, 2010
The following is a verbatim transcript (exact as possible, with emphasis kept as much as possible) of the ideas people offered at the “Future of Rosemont” workshop at the annual Rosemont Community Association meeting on April 27, 2010. Some 100 people broke into groups of 3-7 each, wrote their ideas about the things they though the Rosemont community needs, and then shared the ideas among themselves, then with larger groups, and finally with the entire group. At the end of this report is a copy of the actual form people filled out, and a brief description of the process they followed. All were invited to fill out multiple forms with different ideas. Not all people filled out forms, and not all turned them in. However, the following appears to be a good representation of the most common ideas that people were sharing that evening. Most ideas included author’s names and contact information; however, that information has been removed from this listing to preserve privacy. The ideas are presented here grouped into general categories for easy of getting a sense of the community’s thinking, in order of most responses in a category. Some ideas could fit into several categories. (The numbers on the items are irrelevant in this summary and should be ignored; they were used simply to track the ideas in the original report.)
Summary of final group reports of the one key idea of each of the four groups (drafter unknown)

Rosemont Community Association
The Future of Rosemont Workshop
Step 1
On the forms provided, clearly write your ideas (one idea per form) for making Rosemont a more desirable community and how that might be accomplished.
Step 2
In small table groups, briefly share your ideas so all at the table know what each other’s ideas are.
Then each table selects the 4 topics the group thinks are the most important to work on ASAP.
Step 3
Then within each of the several “color area” groups of about 6 tables, each table will share its 4 most important ideas/topics.
The “color area” group then selects the 3 topics it thinks are most urgent for RCA to address in the next 5-10 years.
Step 4
The “color area groups” will briefly share these 3 ideas with the entire gathering. By this time the most agreed on important ideas should be apparent, and suggestions for action should be identified.
With this step the workshop will conclude. You are urged to stay and continue sharing ideas with your neighbors and RCA so action steps can be developed.
