Our community has been affected by the changes in services provided by Sacramento County and your Rosemont Community Association (RCA) is working to mitigate the negative effects of those changes. But we need your help. As you may know, law enforcement and code enforcement services have been reduced because of the County’s severe fiscal condition. As a result, we are experiencing an increase in crimes and property degradation in our community. If we are to maintain and enhance our community, and keep it a safe and desirable place to live and work, we need to step up and help ourselves. RCA is actively working to promote Neighborhood Watch (NW) programs throughout the Rosemont area. Already there are a number of NW groups actively keeping an eye on what is happening on their street, with participants prepared to act to help law enforcement prevent and arrest crimes. We are helping train neighbors to know what to do, how to coordinate their efforts, and most importantly, how to prevent and discourage crime in the first place. A NW Steering Committee meets quarterly -- 7:00 p.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9242 Kiefer Boulevard. Please check the RCA calendar for the dates. These meetings are open to the public. Due to the efforts of this committee: We urge you to contact RCA now to learn what steps you can take to protect your family and property. We will be happy to help you get started and put you in contact with other Rosemont residents who are participating in the NW program. To find out how you can start a NW group or learn whether one already exists in your neighborhood, email RCA at info@rosemontca.org or contact us at (916) 726-SAFE (7233). Coffee with a Cop! Would you like to meet in person with a cop to discuss concerns you have about what is happening in your neighborhood? The first CWAC event was very well attended by concerned residents. Be sure RCA has your email address so you can be informed of when the next opportunity will be to meet with Rosemont’s POP (Problem Oriented Policing) Officer. (RCA email: info@rosemontca.org)
